Well if we're gonna be technical here, the 1.96 average wasn't an official world record yet so the 2x2 world record average at the time this video was taken was still 2.02. So theoretically speaking he did break the world record of 2.02. See what I mean?

To be honest, I'm not sure most people will notice a difference. But to me and Cameron the new ones are super bumpy and they don't break in easily. Even after doing 500+ solves it's still the same.
