Yo goons.

I have improved quite a bit over the last few weeks. I'd say that I'm averaging 17-18 now over 50 solves or so, and 12's 13's and 14's are coming thick and fast!

My next big goal however is to become consistently sub15. It's gonna take a hella lotta work, I know that much.. but I think I can do it. Still waiting for that first ever sub10 too >.< But that's not important.

Please take a look at these three solves from my last session.

Any advice/tips would be greatly appreciated. I'm kinda guessing it's going to be all the usual stuff (work on lookahead, turn slower, less rotations, less pauses, better algs blahblah), but im kinda hoping that someone can offer some advice that I don't already know :)

Thanks guys.

I'm not fast but the PLLs looked a bit ugly to me. What about some 2-sided recog, or some alternate (y2) algs? I just finished learning PLL from y2 and its a nice small set (16).

You are quicker than me, but i saw a few things that were "sticking" out from the solve.
-Only white cross. Even though this is negociable, try out being bi-color neutral.
-OLL-recognition. Yeah, drill some OLL's. Know full oll? If not, learn it. If you do, drill 'em.
-Cross-f2l transition. This was not anything major, but a half second or so could be shaved off with a little practice.
Otherwise, same usual advice goes, and keep up the good work!

Thanks man!

I am opposite neutral, it was just a coincidence that all three were white here :)
Yeah I definately need to drill my LL algs.. need to learn a few better algs too. I know full OLL but some of them are awful.
Working on cross and 1st pair every day. I feel it getting better naturally though so hopefully that will improve on its own :)

Only white cross isn't that bad, so don't stress it.

You only used about 4 sec for inspection... it may be enough to plan the entire cross with practice but you can use the remaining seconds to look for cross on another color or to look for pieces on the top layer that won't move so you can get a clue for your next f2l pair.

1. Use more inspection. Plan the cross AND track a corner.
2. Learn to plan the entire cross and if possible, entire first pair. One look it.
3. Look ahead more in f2l. You have regular pauses between pairs. That's bad. Slow down near the end of each f2l pair to look for the next.
4. Drill LL recognition. Your PLL recog in particular seemed a bit slow.

Hope this helps!

- Your AUF before the J perm, not sure why you did it, but you want to recog the PLL from that angle, then AUF to the correct thing (so you don't have to rotate)
- Yeah basically what everyone else said for lookahead. Your TPS for each pair is such that you can't really see what's going on; make it slower and cooler! Be the Jon Tan!
- This is more stylistic I think, but on the first solve, you had edges oriented before doing last pair, but you did the pair in a way that misoriented them. Try keeping them oriented (or at least know how your F2L algs flip edges if you don't already)
