Hey guys,
After having a lubixed guhong v2, after a few months, i wondered what a guhong v1 feels like. So i took out the torpedos. I overall like it without the torpedos alot better(may i call it the guhong v1?). Im wondering if anyone else has had this happen to then, or generally prefers the v1 over the v2.

I like both versions of the guhong, but I actually use torpedoes in both of them (Lubix Fusion for the v1). There's a greater difference between the v1 and the v2 than just the presence or absence of torpedoes. The v1 has this sorta boxy yet incredibly smooth feel that I really love.

As far as torpedoes, I prefer my Dayan cubes with torpedoes (except for the Panshi). I get massive pops without torpedoes unless it's tensioned really tight.

Hm, mine is poorly tensioned, can cut like 42. But i almost never get a pop since im used to the way the guhong turns

I too prefer the V1 over the V2. Ditto with the LingYun, so I'm sad I'll not likely obtain a black LingYun V1.

Out of curiosity, has anyone tried turning the Guhong POM into a Fusion by adding torpedos? I don't ever pop my normal Guhong V1, but my POM (which is tensioned similarly) sometimes kicks a piece out. I feel like a properly Lubixed POM with torpedos might be a superior cube, what with the harder plastic and all.

a v1 has little bumps on the underside of the corners. if you ad torpedoes they will bump agenst them causing a bumpy feeling. the v1 with torpedoes is also very loud and doesn't corner cut as well.

Shave it or sand it, unitl bumpy feeling is gone.

Both models of the guhong are made with different plastic so a guhong v2 without torpedoes still isn't the same as a guhong v1.

They look like small cigar-shaped pretrusions from the base of an edge piece. They sit at right-angles to the sides of the edge piece.

A little advice for you: There is a Screw Mod out there, created by Waffo/cubes4lyfe. In this Mod, you make a hole in the edge piece right where the torpedo goes. You put a Screw in the hole, so it acts as a torpedo.
Cyoubx, who I consider a legit cuber, says it works very well. He mains a GuHong with this Mod. You should check it out. In fact, let me save you the search and put a video that includes it below.

how does putting screws in compare to torpedoes? im gonna get another guhong and do this mod and see what its like.
