Stiffer springs or longer core for my Zhanchi?

Guys, does anyone sell stiffer springs for my Zhanchis or a core where the screw pieces are a little longer? Just experimenting with the feel of stiffer springs rather than tightening the Zhanchi screws, but if it works I want to use it on all my cubes.

You can try using two washers under the springs.
I tried Alpha springs and they were way too stiff

I thought about adding washers for a while. I had to do this on my (regular size) ShengShou 7x7 after I replaced its springs with new ones that were too short to work in it. I was able to convince myself that adding a washer is exactly equivalent to tightening the screw. I needed the washers because the screws wouldn't screw down far enough as the plastic got in the way. That is, adding a washer (and keeping the screws in the same position) increases the force and decreases the amount of play available. This is the same effect as tightening the screws, assuming you have enough room to tighten the screws.

On the other hand, changing the spring to one with a larger spring constant will increase the force while leaving the amount of play unchanged. It's a way of having a tighter cube without reducing corner cutting.

I dropped by McFadden Dale and picked up a collection of springs of various spring constant. The intention is to make my ShengShou mini easier to turn but still hard to pop. So I want springs with a smaller spring constant but the same length.
