normally i use the inspection time for my cross, can it somehow hlp me in f2l?? look ahead? btw im alr solving cross on the bottom... haf a hard time to look ahead. any tips/hints on how to "master" look ahead? my f2l wastes alot of time and contribute to my bad timing:mad:

Inspection time will not help you with F2L most of the time. You might want to seek the first pair if you see a very easy cross though.
F2L just comes with time, don't worry about it. Always concentrate on the next pair.

Inspection Time:
- Just look for any obvious pairs and the cross
- You can plan some pairs first if you can see then and then finish the cross off

Look Ahead:
- Practice, practice, practice
- The more familiar you become with solving the cube, the easier it will be to recognise a case that you've done before

F2L:
- Avoid cube rotations
- Try to pair up and insert at the same time
- Insert into any of the four slots without rotating the cube

That's just how I do it *shrug*

Search:
If you want better advice, do a Google search and you'll find heaps of tutorials. I could probably look some up for you, but that's just tedious - and if someone else makes the same post users will end up posting URLs to such tutorials over and over...

thats really really hard... i mean inserting 4 slots w/o rotating cube. in order to do so must u memorise the f2l algorithms?

well most of the f2l 'algorithms' are kinda intuitive... just practice to complete f2l without cube rotation, and u'll get it in about 3 or 4 days :)

It really isn't, it just takes some practice. I use a mostly intuitive F2L, but I can insert from any angle. Start first with the simple triggers.

For example: solve your F2L, then to LUL to set up a simple LU'L insertion into FL. Now, do U2 so you have to insert into BR, then do R'U'R to insert it. Practice this sort of reflection across S first, they made more intuitive sense to me than to things like FUF' to insert into FL.

Most of all, practice. The more you practice the more comfortable become.

wad abt those pairs tt is directly in front of u... i find turning front face slower for me

A quarter cube turn is not too slow, most advice I've seen doesn't worry too much about switching an F to y' R or y L, but a full 180 rotation is quite slow and to be avoided if possible. This is why I recommend learning insert at the back first.

I started learning after reading Dan Knights' advice that it not only avoids slow cube rotations, but also provides a better view of the rest of the cube for your next corner. Why turn the cube to insert on F, then turn the cube again so you can see the next pair to insert on F?
