I am Tarun from Bangalore and I average about 20seconds.

Well I just started 4x4 and I haven't even timed myself so maybe switching methods is out of the question for the time being. Its redux btw
It shouldn't be really bad though, I know someone who is sub-50 with Redux.
I don't really think I'll mod it cause the inner layers are fantastic. The outer layers are catchy and locky but then I've heard it'll become good with proper tensioning, lubrication, and breaking in. I might change my opinion in the future though.
Do you do 5x5? It seems so hard I haven't even scrambled mine lol
So after getting fed up of 4x4 and Pyraminx I went back to my good ol Zhanchi. At first I averaged horribly cause I had to get used to it. I took a break, and then guess what
Broke all PBs except single.
avg5 - 21.79
avg12 - don't remember, twas 22.xy
I don't usually count avg50, but it was my first sub-26.5 (and first sub-25) avg: 24.24
Both of my best solves in the session (18.53 and 19.xy) were on the same G perm lol
It's weird that your inner layers aren't catching. SS 4x4s are pretty notorious for catchy inner layers unless they're Konsta modded. I guess lucky you! I just ordered another SS 4x4 because I want to re-do the mods. Mine locks up more than I'd like, and I think doing a little less of the Florian mod side of things will help.
World class times with reduction are certainly possible. Yau really is just a modification on reduction, and I don't think it's inherently better than reduction. I just massively prefer edge pairing with Yau. If you ever get tired of hunting for edges while edge pairing, Yau is your answer!
I have a SS 5x5 and 6x6, and I've only solved them a handful of times to be honest. Although I've spent HOURS Florian modding my 5x5 (it turns like a DREAM now) in anticipation of practicing a lot, I've never gotten around to it. I've got enough on my plate with 3x3, 4x4, 2x2, OH, and a bit of megaminx and pyraminx thrown in. I'm sure I'll get around to the big cubes one day, but I just can't be motivated to do it right now. Not when I feel like I have so much more to improve on with the other cubes that I enjoy more.
Congrats on the PBs! We seem to have both had good 3x3 days. I also got a new ao12 PB today, 22.51, and I've now had 4 straight days of sub-25 ao50s. I'm REALLY stoked about that.
