Modding 42mm Zhanchi into 2x2

Hey guys, i know there's gonna be a zhanchi 2x2 coming out soon and yeah i'm probably gonna get one but i was also thinking about getting a 42mm zhanchi and a wittwo v1 and modding it into a hybrid 42mm zhanchi 2x2, shouldn't be very hard but i was wondering if anyone has tried this before?

also would everyone like me to post pics and videos during the making, sort of a tutorial?


My Method:

What i would be doing i shaving all the edge pieces down like a barrel cube, hollowing out the wittwo outer corners and gluing them together, gluing the zhanchi so its bandaged like a 2x2 and then gluing the whole thing togeather

Maybe shave down the edges as you said, and glue the outside faces of the WitTwo onto the corners of the ZhanChi. It'd take some very precise shaving down of the inside of the WitTwo pieces and the outside of the ZhanChi pieces to get them to meet up over the edges though. If you don't understand what I mean, I'd be willing to try to draw it (although I would be paintbrush, so don't expect anything fancy).

Sorry if this is what you were intending to do - I couldn't quite understand what you meant by the bandaging of the ZhanChi.

yeah that's what i meant

and by bandaging i meant so that the middle layer is bandaged like the inside of a 2x2 so that it doesn't lock up

Why are you using the caps off of a wittwo? just get the cheapest 2x2 you can find and mod the center bits down. The caps shouldn't affect the performance.
Just a suggestion, since I feel this would be a waste of a wittwo

i understand what you mean but i know that the wittwo has corners that separate the same as a zhanchi so i could make it so they still split if possible, besides a modded cap would not be as good as a moulded one ( i think P
