Request an F2L alg!

Yeah, bit of messing about, one oriented edge, one misoriented, fiddle with pairing up individually, combine the two and voila!

What are the better algs for:

The one on cubewhiz.com's print out: lULF'L'U'l' is super awkward. I prefer to avoid L or F turns if possible, but definitely avoid both in the same alg! :)

I don't know how fast you are but, IMO, you should try to get used to L and F turns. It will be useful in the future. Otherwise, you will always be limited.

Regarding l U L F' L' U' l', you can execute it like: R B L U' L' B' R'. Don't be put off by the B turns, in this case they are very confortable first with your right and next with your left index finger.

You would do 2 cube rotations for a single F2L alg when you could do it with no rotations?

Depends on the angle. Another one I use: R U2 R' U R U R' U R U' R'

But then again, these are just algs I've figured out on my own, not necessarily the best.

I realise that the best case for a given situation changes depending on where your free slots are and how it will affect the top layer. I can most of the time have the cross completed on top after finishing F2L just by using intuition, so I don't hold true to these algorithms most of the time. One thing I have noticed though, is that many of you say to use d moves to avoid cube rotations, but many times you can just use F moves instead. I find myself doing l U for F moves that come after R moves much more often than I find myself doing d moves.

For example, if while doing the FR slot, you had the DFR corner in the UFL position with the F color on top and the egde was in the slot and is misoriented, rather than doing R U R' d' L' U L, I would do R U l' U R' U' l.
