[Unofficial] 4x4 Hoya method.. single 26.59

Hmm...

I've watched your other videos. Compared to Mats, I think you are as fast as he is at solving the cross and centres, but compared with Feliks and Sebastian, they are both slightly faster. (Maybe 1 or 2 seconds faster on average). But once again, I don't have that much evidence. I only made this observation based on 5 solves from everyone involved.

Maybe you can beat them if you can find a way to solve the cross and centres a bit faster

I believe i get it:
- do 2 opposite centers (not yellow-white)
- do white + not yellow center
- place 2 unsolved centers on F and U and white on B
- magicly do 3 edges using these scrambled centers
- do last 2 centes
- rest like in Yau

Brest (or someone) has already done a reconstruction of one of his solves.

It has all you need to learn it.
I think it's a really interesting approach, and it's fun to do. I may switch to it, because I still find Yau cross/L4Centers really tricky to do well.

Okay, I average about 1:00 using Yau (I'm not very fast I know). I've just learned Hoya from that reconstruction and I'm going to do an average of 5 now :D

avg of 5: 1:07.60

Time List:
1. (1:10.81) All of these solves had big pauses because I was trying to remember exactly what to do and trying to work out a set system for myself etc. So I think this method has a lot of potential!
2. 1:09.94
3. 1:05.46
4. (1:05.16)
5. 1:07.42

Yes,, This video is just very very very easy case.

I'm trying to find more faster way, but I started this method a couple months ago.

if I can't improve my pairing skill more, I will use your method........................

While Hoya seems to be less efficient than Yau for cross+centres movewise, I can't help but feel that there must be a better way. Yau feels like a hack.

When the example video is up, you will understand it more clearly but I will explain in text. A lot of this is variable but I will use specific colours for this example.
Solve green centre then solve blue centre.
Hold the cube so that Blue is on left. Solve White centre and Orange centre so that White is on top and Orange on Front.
Hold the cube so that White is on bottom and Blue is on left.
Place a Green-White edge at either fDR or fDL with the white part of the edge facing downwards (matching the white centre). Get the other Green-White edge to the U layer and place it above the other Green-White edge. If the GW edge in the U layer is at fUL then do (r U' r'). If GW edge is a fUR then do (l' U l). If White is facing up then flip it so that white is facing front and then solve it using (r U' r') or (l' U l). Now the GW dedge is solved. Do a (D) move and repeat this pairing technique for Red-White, Blue-White and Orange-White.
When all of the cross dedges are solved; do (F).
Solve the last 2 centres using the same technique as Yau. When you have solved these 2 centres, do (F') and then continue on with the 3223 (I think that's what it is called) edge pairing method. I think all of this is correct; I learned the method from the reconstruction so there may be some alterations but I think this is roughly the Hoya method.
Hope this helps!
