I really have trouble recognizing the 4 different types of the G-Perm. I know the algs but, I always take about 3-5 seconds trying to decide which G-perm it is.
Any help?

to be honest, that video explanation is horrible. it made me laugh.
That method has already been mentioned in another thread. I will search for it...Hmmm, nobody has mentioned the method i use.
I place the 2x2x1 block so that it's on it's face. Does that make sense? i.e. if it's orange, i put it on the orange face.
Now, it can be either on the right or the left. Once i've placed it, i just look at the colour of the other cubie next to the 2x2x1 block. It will other be the opposite colour of the 2x2x1 block or it wont. By opposite, i mean if the 2x2x1 is orange, the last cubie is red. So depending on what i see there, i know what G perm to do.
I do this for the A perms and V perm as well.
Hmmm... It's not great but I understood everything. That's how I first learned how to recognize G permutations...to be honest, that video explanation is horrible. it made me laugh.
agreed, except it made me angry. its just him rambling for 3 and a half minutes. also, he says "i" instead of prime. it hurts my ears when people do that. especially when he said "y-i".
i will make one that is not stupid tommorow night if i am not too tired when i get home from work.
By the way how do you differentiate a G permutation and an R permutation from that method? It seems like you're only looking at one face.
