What method do you think gets you to a sub-20 time the fastest?
Probably not Fridrich -- it takes a while to learn the algs, and much longer to master them. I think Ortega's cool even if it's not that fast (actually, it has very few algorithms while the move count is pretty close). Petrus takes a lot of intuition that you need to build up... Vote on it!

Edit: I forgot Roux... If you recommend Roux, just make a post, or vote for Petrus (or i like pancakes :))

No respect? It's just a name... Random combination of words. Hey, you'll remember it!

I have no respect for someone called "Badgersex".
There's no reason to feel that way. Like humans, badgers also need to procreate.

lol, no respect? You're going to make a full judgment about someone based completely on their name? hahahaa.

Well, my name is Ettienne, what's your judgment on me?

I seriously doubt it was random...

It's a silly name though, i must admit.

ANYWAY... i'm not sure where to vote, but i'm a Fridrich method user...

Why do you only want to get to sub-20 very fast? Sub-20 is no longer as important as it used to be as there is no way you are going to win anything with a 19.xx average. You want a method that can get sub-10 not 20.

thats so true :D
not sub20 but maybe sub 15

I know it's not competitive. But sub-20 is the point where it gets impressive.

And once I get to sub-20, I can just practice that method from there. It's hard to explain why, but I have a strong aversion to fridrich. Actually, it's not that hard to explain -- I hate memorising, and I don't want to do what everybody else does.

I voted 'I like pancakes'

VH, because it's actually less algs than Fridrich in total.
42 COLLs, 3 PLLs, a few VHF2Ls that are quite intuitive anyway.

I have no respect for someone called "Badgersex".
That name is quite disturbing.

Well VH isn't exactly less algs depending on how you think about it. If you get an OLL skip, you get get any of 21 PLLs. Therefore, you would have to memorize several extra algs. Alternatively, you could just learn 3 corner permutations and then do a edge cycle alg.

GAH! you didn't include roux! But petrus is along the lines. but it just really depends on the person. that's why i voted i like pancakes

ohh... dang... i started learning roux about a week ago. i can't believe i forgot it! maybe i can edit my poll...

so do you think roux is the best?

by the way, i'd like to hear about anyone who learned the ortega method

Yea but still, most people whom learn VH know all PLLs.
COLL is a great method IMO.

It is thats why I'm learning it :)

This is the site to learn it from than :)
Best algs IMO.

Fridrich is probably easiest to start with initially (watch a 9 minute video and most people can understand F2L, rest is memorization that anyone can do)

Blockbuilding requires a lot more thinking and intuition so it would take longer to 'learn'.

Well, since most competitors already use fridrich, they are years ahead of me in that method. So the only hope of getting better than the fridrich-users is to find a different method. Besides, I could never memorize and recognize that many similar cases that fast. And if somebody learns full ZB then we're toast.

Either way... Fridrich is boring...
