Hello. I'm geniusbob3 and I currently live in Texas. I started cubing about two years ago because I wanted something I could be good at. I'm not good at sports nor do I have any discernible musical ability, so I figured, hey, why not? I started learning via the youcandothecube website and I averaged about 1:15 after practicing a bunch. After this I naturally wanted to get faster, so I learned F2L, 2Look OLL, and a few PLLs. I also bought an FII cube and watched badmephisto's YouTube videos which brought my average down to around 50 seconds. I started slacking after this, I didn't cube for a long time, only brief solves every few weeks to make sure I still remembered how. I picked cubing back up about a week ago because my friends are starting to get faster than me. I now know about half the PLLs and none of the OLLs. I'm also trying to learn how to do the cross on the bottom rather than the top.

When I'm not cubing, I'm either playing video games or browsing the internet. I like puzzle games (obviously) and adventure games. I'm not a big fan of FPS', but I do like games similar to Uncharted. I also play Minecraft quite a bit along with Skyward Sword. Browsing the internet usually has two facets: reddit and YouTube. Reddit takes up around 60% of my internet time, and YouTube the other 40%. I also do a little Python programming.

I'm pretty quiet around people I don't know, but when I'm with my friends, I'm a whole different person. I like to crack jokes and make witty remarks. I'm good at math and science and the like. I am not a big fan of history if it is U.S. history, but I'm fascinated with the histories of other countries (especially China). I like to read sci-fi books and watch sci-fi movies.

I look forward to improving my time and being in a community here. My current average is about 45.00, and my goal is to be sub 30 before school ends.

Welcome.

I don't understand how or why someone would learn PLL without learning any OLL first (Like I don't understand why it would be beneficial.), so if someone could explain that, please do.

I also don't understand reddit, so if someone could explain that, it would be appreciated.

What are some of your favorite movies?

Sorry if that was a bit unclear. I currently know about 2/3 of the PLLs and none of the OLLs. I do, however, know 2-look OLL. When I do my solves I always use 2-look OLL. If I don't know the PLL, I use 2-look PLL. I wanted to learn PLL first because there are less algorithms.

Reddit is basically a congregation of the whole Internet. People (knows as redditors) post links to content and other people vote the content up or down. They can also comment on the links. For example, when Kim Jong Il died, someone posted a link to the news story and it got massive upvotes and feedback. One of the main aspects of reddit is community. There are moderators and admins who monitor the site, but it's mostly the users who control what they want to see. As a whole, redditors are usually intelligent and witty. Politeness varies from person to person. There are numerous "sub-reddits" that people can post to that are specific to one subject. For example, the "gaming" sub-reddit deals with video game related content, while the "world news" sub-reddit deals with (obviously) world news. I use reddit mostly to find funny content and news. If you are going to check it out, I recommend www.reddit.com/r/funny

Inception, The Matrix, Shutter Island, LoTR, Star Wars, The Social Network, etc.

Ah, I never learned 2-Look OLL, so that's probably why i didn't understand. Even though I plan to learn all OLL cases, I should probably learn 2-look first.

Interesting. Though I can't personally see myself using it.

Inception, The Matrix, Shutter Island, LoTR, Star Wars, The Social Network, etc.
Hmm, I liked Inception, The Matrix and The Social Network, but I didn't like Shutter Island or the Star Wars movies. Haven't seen LOTR. But cool, nonetheless.
