100 Yard Breast Stroke in 1:17.09

Well, congrats anyway. Do you have another year to try again? Is this High School or USAS/Y? I also just barely missed High School State (Ohio) in 100 Breast my So/Jr. year, but finally made it my Senior year... :)

State went ok. I got a 1:15.xx but didn't get it recorded. There was a beast there who got a 56..... New state record by 2 seconds.

That's so lame. If you competed in any international event you wouldn't be properly prepared. Suddenly you'd find yourself having to go an extra 9 metres and struggling >.<

Anyone that's on a competative club team swims long course meters during the summer. Long course season typically runs from mid March to the end of October (it starts in December this year because it's an olympic year). And most people switch from short course yards to long course meters just fine, it depends mostly on the swimmer anyway. A lot of people when they first start long course find that they are just naturally better at it.

According to google, 100 metres = 109.36133 yards

The extra 9 yards doesn't make the biggest difference in races, as 50 and 100s are still full out sprints, and the 500 and 1000 is changed from 400 to 800. The big difference is switching between a pool over double the length. There are half the turns, and that affects your races a lot, especially for people who do a lot of underwater.

Kevin, do you swim in a yard or metre pool?

Both. I compete in yards from September through March on my club and high school teams. Then I swim long course meters until August on my club team. Also, I swim short course yards on my summer league team from May until July. I have a 28.46 50 breast yards, 1:05.5 100 yards (I'm going for state which is a 1:03.90), and a 1:18 100 meters. My 100 meters time is pretty slow though.

i used to compete then i figured ut that i suck at backstrock. i was like 10 more seconds slower than you. nice work. i honestly am not that good at freestyle or breaststroke but i completely suck at butterfly.
