Yes, as everyone else said, you are an incredibly fast learner! My grandma was born in Puerto Rico, but moved here to the US when she was like 5 or something. But my family has gone to Puerto Rico to visit my great grandpa! I was like 6 or 7 then, so I don't remember much, but it was amazing there! So I am technically 1/4 Puerto Rican

That seems to be what he was trying to say. I believe the correct translation would be more like this:
Yo no sé mucho español porque ahora yo estoy (or probably better: vivo) en los E.U. Yo hablo inglés mejor que el español.
