I've been trying to use the Fridrich Method and I'm a bit confused with how to approach F2L. Even though she says not to blindly apply the algorithms, do top speedcubers do this??? If not how do they approach F2L??

Most top speedcubers know what the majority of their f2l algorithms are doing. Once you learn and understand how f2l works, then you can start speeding up and ignoring the solutions you already learned, so you can look ahead to the next pair.
