How's my improvment looking? Am I focusing on the right areas?

Ok so basically I've been recording 'stats' of 12 solves every week or so since about a week after learning fridrich. I'll list all of the results here from individual parts of my solves, I'd like to see what others think and hear some feedback on where I need to improve and how I'm going :).

I've mainly been aiming to get better at F2l as it's the only area I've focused on, though other parts have inproved by just doing heaps of solves. The way I've been working on my f2l is to try and recognise cases faster and start a session by solving slower then get faster as it becomes easier to look ahead. I'll also upload a video sometime on this thread to give you more of an Idea :).

Thanks for viewing.

So there's all the data, I hope I can get some good advice :). Thanks.

This looks really fine.

Nice improvement in just four weeks.

To me it looks like you are already on the right track, so just keep on practising.

Here are some tips for f2l:

- learn algs for difficult cases
- rotate the cube as little as possible.
- learn to insert pairs from different angles (to avoid cube rotations)

In my experience, the cross gets better, just by doing a lot of solves, but you can practise it alone. Just take your time to plan the cross and then do it with your eyes closed (allows you to start looking ahead for the first pair).
- If this is too difficult you can start with just three pieces.
- If this is easy then plan the first pair along with the cross or learn x cross.

And the last layer algs will improve as you keep on practising, but you might want to look into some nice fingertricks.

That's looking really good, you've made awesome improvements in that time.

instead of measuring your times for each step, try counting how many moves each step takes, and try to reduce the number of moves.
Just go real slow and plan things out, don't even time yourself, just try to use fewer moves....

Ok so I did a couple of random scrambles and solves and here they are, all notated.

Scramble: L F L2 U' B' U L B U' F' U' D2 B' F D' R2 F' B2 L' D L' R2 B F' D
Solve
Cross: U B L’ F’ R F (6/6)
F2l 1: x2 y R U2 R’ U R U’ R’ (9/15)
F2l 2: y R U2 R’ U’ R’ U R U2 L U L’ (12/27)
F2l 3: U2 F’ U’ F (4/31)
F2l 4: U’ B U2 B’ U2 B U B’ (8/39)
OLL: y F U R U’ R’ F’ y2 l’ U’ L U R U’ r’ F (16/55)
PLL: R2 U R U R’ U’ R’ U’ R’ U R’ U2 (12/67)

Scramble: R2 U2 D' F2 B D R2 D R' B F' R2 D2 L' R' B' D' F' L D' R B' F2 R2 U2
Solve
Cross: B’ D’ R2 D’ L2 F U’ R U (9/9)
F2l 1: x2 U2 R’ U R L’ U2 L U’ B’ U B (12/21)
F2l 2: R U R’ U R U’ R’ (7/28)
F2l 3: R’ U’ R U’ R’ U’ R (7/35)
F2l 4: L’ U2 L F U F’ U F U’ F’ (10/45)
OLL: y2 F U R U’ R’ F’ y2 R U2 R2 U’ R2 U’ R2 U2 R (17/62)
PLL: U’ R U’ R U R U R U’ R’ U’ R2 (12/74)

It does seem like I'm maybe doing too many moves? Though 2look OLL seems to provide the most.
Another note is that I do white cross on top, these two scrambles were white on top, green facing.

Here is my average MoRpHiiNe:

Cross(On Bottom) Avg 10/12 -> 00:04.87
F2L Avg 10/12 -> 00:13.17
2LOLL Avg 10/12 -> 00:04.33
2LPLL Avg 10/12 -> 00:06.00

Cross = 17%
F2L = 46%
2LOLL = 15%
2LPLL = 21%
Total: 28.37 Average

Wow noobs these days are improving quickly 33 to 28 in 6 days WTF. But god job and I wish you the best of luck.

Work on your f2l until you get consistent sub 15 including cross. Just jeep on working on your f2l

yeah, work more on f2l. try to get most f2l pairs done in 7 or 8 moves and try to get your whole f2l (including cross) closer to 30 rather than 40 moves
http://www.speedsolving.com/wiki/index.php/F2L use this for any cases that you cant find a quick solution to
EDIT: rotations (x,y,z) dont count as moves when writing notation of a solve, so the solves are 4-5moves less in total

Ok, thanks for the advice everyone :).
So really working on my cross + F2l seems to be the main advice, I think I'll still learn full PLL soon.. But working on f2l as much as possible seems good :).
Well I'll try to take all of this on board and get into some practice later :).
