When did Feliks Zemdegs get Sub 30/40?

Don't you EVER try to progress like other people. That applies to any hobby. For example, I used to want to be like this kid who plays guitar on youtube. I wanted to learn songs in a day, like he did. I realized that I will fail if I try to do that, but I can progress at my own speed and achieve great things. Don't push yourself.

I realized I just sliced 20 seconds off my average of yesterday. O_O Practice does make perfect O_O

For some reason I do better when I get 3 seconds of inspection instead of 15.

Jorghi, your improvement already seems amazing to me. I thought I was improving fast but your single PB is nearly the same as mine with Fridrich... How'd you learn 4LLL and get your times sub 50 in a week with f2l? That's insane... But good work.

On topic of the question, I reckon it would of at least taken 3-4 weeks, with a lot of practice.

Thats a bit harsh. I think its good to aspire to keep up with someone as it pushes you to improve further. @Jorghi Dont worry if you dont keep up with Feliks' progress as he improved at a very fast pace.

It took me over 1 year to get sub-30 avg. and 2 years to sub-20. Soon I'll be sub-15 after 3 years. So ya don't compare to the WR holder.

PRACTICE

Seems a little FISHY to me. I call BS. I spent a good portion of a year learning full Fridrich, and mastering F2L, and know what is involved. There's no way to START cubing not even a week ago and be sub 50 and already have learned F2L and 4LLL. Maybe I went about it all wrong, but it took a hell of a lot longer for me. I've been seriously cubing non stop for a year and a half, and only average about 16. Yes there are rare cases like Feliks, but come on dude. A week?

It took me about a 3 weeks to get sub 30 my pb is like 19.5 and i avg sub 30 but i did 3 x3 when i was in 5th grade and subbed under 50s. I think its all about dedication and hard work. You don't have to know like every algorithm for f2l but my recommendation learn all pll first and then fix f2l by practicing like empty slots multislotting and some zbf2l (currently doing that right now). And after all that you probably get under 20 seconds so just be patient and you'll get better over time.

It took me two weeks to even grasp the concept of roux (using roux's website of course), another two weeks for sub-minute; sub-20 after like three months in total, and another three to get to sub-15.

It all comes down to how much practice you do, and as said, certain people just progress faster. And I believe blockbuilding requires more practice generally?

Getting sub 30 after 1 few weeks of cubing is not all that rare is it...?

I came up with my own method after a few days of messing with a cube, after a week or so i then learned the Petrus method which got me sub 30, only then did i take the plunge into CFOP which actually took my times up above 40 again so i ditched it in aid of Roux (still my favourite method), which had me sub 30 again, since then ive managed sub 20 CFOP

certain people will progress faster, it all depends on their willingness to explore and ultimately learn more about the cube

Dude, read my sig, I have been cubing off and on for 3 years now and I still avg 35 seconds. It doesnt matter how fast you are, and long as you are having fun.

Nuff said, I Average around the same at the moment, but I dont care for speed (not on 3x3 anywho)

Roux current avg5: 14.45 - avg12: 15.87 - avg100:17.65 secs - PB: 9.87secs My deserted website:5bld.webs.com

17.65 avg100 is not sub15.

He means he got a sub 15 avg (his avg 5), not that he is sub 15 consistently.. Though I guess you've got a point.
My times are improving most days now as my f2l gets better, which I hope will continue for a while =D.

Well people don't generally say "Oh, I hit sub-15" and assume people are thinking they are talking about an average of 5. Average of 12 means way more than an average of 5 anyway.

Alright, I guess I worded it wrong... I meant to get a sub 15 avg, of which I only do average of 5s.
You can say I'm sub-20 (or sub-16 to be fussy) until I record an average of 100.
Like ignore what I said about sub-15.

say even the slightest thing just a teeny tiny bit wrong and this crowd hits you hard =P
