Hi I started cubing not long ago my fastest time is 56.70 and average of 5 is 108.23. Thats with only know a few agrorymths sorry for spelling how can I decrease my time. I want to beat my friend 4evercuber on this site since he taught me. Thank you cuberintraning

I'd suggest you try to learn F2L after you break the minute-average barrier.

It's "algorithm". There are quite a few useful F2L tutorials on YouTube, try badmephisto or MeMyselfandPi. However, I'd recommend you try to get a little faster on the cube before you try to learn F2L.

Now that is a cool reason , and Yup watch robh0629 f2l video and cross+f2l videos of badmephisto. They will help you a lot. Please dont go into memorising much of f2l algorithms till u are sub30. Many people can sub15 or sub20 without f2l algorithms. The main thing is to be patient, practice regularly, and to practise faster, work harder, this may help http://www.speedsolving.com/forum/showthread.php?27870-How-to-practice.

I do not understand how waiting until you are sub 50 will give you ANY advantage whatsoever to learning F2L. You might as well start at a 105 sec average, you will only have more time to perfect the method.

What's the point in stomping that R D R' D' corner inserting to your brain if it has no use in the long run.

The more you practice with the cube the more "moves" so to speak become visible. At least that how I felt it. The first time i held a cube I didn't optimally turn it because of I hadn't adjusted to the 3D concept. But with practice it became easier and it also made F2L easier to learn. Also it would be really demoralizing to try and learn it but not being able to nail it.

I feel the same exact way. I never reach Sub 1min, let alone sub 50secs using my Beginner method with requires RDR'D' spamming before switching CFOP. My PB was like 1:04. And even now, I just did a Beginner method solve to demonstrate to a friend a few days ago and I only got 56 seconds. So I still don't see the point of being sub 50 or 1 min before learning F2L.

I would lean some variation of 4LLL that avoids the R' D' R D spam before learning f2l. I used a variation on Petrus LL when I first learned from Jasmine Lee's beginners tutorial. It was a four-look last layer solving EO - CP - CO - EP

EO -

F (R U R' U') F'
F (U R U' R') F'

CP -

Niklas : L U' R' U L' U' R

CO -

Sune : R U R' U R U2 R'
Anti Sune : R' U' R U' R' U2 R

EP -

CW Allan : R2 U (F B') R2 (F' B) U R2
CCW Allan : R2 U' (F B') R2 (F' B) U' R2

I used this one too, loved CP before CO as the alg is much nicer

EO -

F (R U R' U') F'
F (U R U' R') F' better: f (R U R' U') f' same movement, just a double F to start with

CP -

Niklas : L U' R' U L' U' R yeah I liked this one too

CO -

Sune : R U R' U R U2 R'
Anti Sune : R' U' R U' R' U2 R
I used these too, good for cube understanding, less for speed...
Check out badmephisto's beginner method for the poiners on how to AUF for Sune
Offcourse use Anti Sune for Anti Sune ;-)

EP -

CW Allan : R2 U (F B') R2 (F' B) U R2
CCW Allan : R2 U' (F B') R2 (F' B) U' R2
better learn the simple R U' R U R U R U' R' U R2 and it's L U counterpart from the start

This with my thoughts added in bold

cubenovice : I still use F U R U' R' F' (never used the f R U R' U' f' one)

For beginner's most of the people I've taught had a much easier time remembering Alan than the MU or RU EPLLs I've showed them. Fewer moves, repetitive structure, near palindrome flow. Also it makes the last layer all comms/congugates which is nice, makes it easy to expand upon and makes it a good introduction to comms later (haven't made use of this fact yet ;P)

I agree 100%. It's the same as saying "don't get a LingYun before you're sub 40". Why the hell not? Might as well start learning to control it early on. It's not like a person at sub 20 wouldn't need to adapt after switching from a storebought to a LingYun.

I disagree with other people saying you should learn after you break the minute barrier average. My average was 1:19 with a very bad beginner's method but I learned and understood intuitive f2l and after practicing a lot my times very quickly got about 1 minute average each. Badmephisto does have some of the best tutorials around. After you become familiar with intuitive f2l i recommend getting started with 2 look oll and pll also known as 4 Look last layer. Badmephisto also had tutorials on those. Currently with all that i just described to you I average 53 seconds and my record is 45 seconds (PLL skip.) it's at your pace and how comfortable u are with learning everything. again, this will all be comfirmed with badmephisto i recommend u first look at his video how to become a speedcuber which has links to everything else.
