Anyone have any suggestions to improve?

Hello everyone

I recorded five solves.
If anyone has some tips on how I could improve, and what could be better, tell me! :)

One thing I'm already aware of is that I should form a cross on the bottom instead of top, but I'm having a very hard time adjusting myself, because I've been building it on top since the very beginning.

Thanks in advance!

Like you said, Cross on D and you could also try to optimize it a little.
For F2L the main thing you should work on is cutting down on all the cube rotations. Your lookahead seemed pretty good on most solves, but a couple of the solves did have some pauses.
Learn full PLL first, then full OLL later.
And the finger trick you do the D2 with in your A perm is a little weird. You use wrist turns and do two separate D turns. I'd figure something else out if I were you.

Yeah, I have been thinking about the A-perm thingy too. That's because I didn't use fingertricks but wrist turns when I started, and the A-perm was one of the first algorithms that I learned. I only learned 2-look and such after I started using fingertricks. That's the reason I'm used to doing the A-perm that way now. I really should go and find a comfortable fingertrick for it.

Thanks for your thoughts!

Cross on D is so unnecessary to get good times.
anyway, basically everything else avgdi said. Less cube rotations, learn to do a lot of F2L cases from different angles. Learn full PLL as quickly as you can without doing it so quickly to the point of putting difficulty on recall. I am of the opinion that full PLL helps times more than full OLL; don't worry so much about the large number of OLL algs

Thanks, I've always been wondering about what the most useful thing to learn first would be; OLL or PLL. I think you're right. I really feel that PLL's slow me down tremendously at times, especially if I'm getting this case where I have to perform 3 PLL algorithms (two A-perms and one Z-perm), that's really a VERY annoying case to get when you don't know full PLL.

True, but it is still good to learn.

In regards to OLL I should have been more specific. You can be sub 15 using 2 look OLL, save that for the very last thing. Full PLL is way more important.

The next PLL you should learn is an E perm. When you get to PLL and there are no headlights, do an E perm from any position. Then you will never have to do three PLL algs.

Personally I would recommend to learn this Y perm instead of E perm

F R U' R' U' R U R' F' R U R' U' R' F R F'

any time you have a diagonal swap of corners you can use this alg.

The benefit of learning this alg is with it you get two free OLLs and you can easily learn 2 more PLLs from it.

Y perm - F R U' R' U' R U R' F' R U R' U' R' F R F'

The red algorithm solves this fish OLL

F R U' R' U' R U R' F'

The blue algorithm solves this T OLL, which I call 8-move T or sexyhammer

R U R' U' R' F R F'

Now if you do the blue algorithm first then the red alg you get T perm

R U R' U' R' F R F' F R U' R' U' R U R' F'
As you can see the F' at the end of blue cancels with the F at the beginning of red and the two Rs combine to make R2. Those algs canceled look like this
R U R' U' R' F R2 U' R' U' R U R' F'

Also with this alg you can solve J perm, simply by moving the last four moves to the beginning.

T perm = R U R' U' R' F R2 U' R' U' R U R' F'

J perm = R U R' F' R U R' U' R' F R2 U' R' U'

Good luck

Definitely do what Rpotts said. I said E perm because when I learned 2 Look OLL I learned from badmephisto, and that's what his site said. Y perm makes way more sense, plus E perms kinda suck. :p

You guys rock. :D If there's one thing I really hated, it was doing 3 PLL's in a row. I tried it out and the Y-perm indeed fully solves the case or gives me an easy U-perm to solve.

Time to learn the perm now. Thanks everyone! :D
