[Unofficial] Kanneti Sae Han - almost 3x3 Single WR

I'm guessing this was a prepped solve done just for fun. I think he hit the reset button deliberately.

How often do you guys accidentally hit the reset button with your *thumb*? Ever? One solve in a thousand?

Interesting. In the finals, Kanneti's fifth solve was actually a DNF. But looking at the videos, there were a ton of people standing behind him on 1-4, and none on the DNF.
Yes, because the DNF video is not part of the final, it was not at the same moment of the day. I don't get your point.

Just stop talking dude. A comp I went to 2 days ago I hit the reset button with my thumb as I stopped the stackmat. It happens. Not common but it happens so stop talking. You can even clearly tell by his reaction its not faked.

Not that it doesn't look legit to me as well, but why is everyone disregarding the two people ITT who were at the competition and said that the solve wasn't official?

edit: David - r u a ninja?

I was there, and I also think it is an unofficial solve. Someone on the french forum even said that Kanneti was solving the same cube over and over, for fun.
Believe me, if such a thing had happened during a real solve, there would have been a serious mess. Since I was practicing BLD, I would have noticed it. Plus, something would have been said on the french forum.

This pretty much sums up what I originally had in the original post about my doubts and uncertainty, plus why the question mark in the title is there. At that time, I doubted that this solve was official for the exact same reason - nobody prominent or at the competition had said anything or made a big deal about it.
I still maintain a very small degree of skepticism, but it's good to have these posts from those who were actually there.

Someone might have said this, but the fact that the camera is cut immediately after the solve could be to avoid seeing the lack of surprise from onlookers. The cameraman would probably leave the camera recording for a while after in a real solve (especially after a world record).
