Why does my storebought own my F-II?

Okay. I am in this really weird situation. I've always been cubing with a storebought. It locks up half of the time, it doesn't cut corners, it's slow, so I bought a F-II.

I thought that my times would decrease (of course I didn't expect I'd sub-10, I averaged around 45 and thought it'd be around 40 now, or at least stay the same), however: the times I get with my storebought pretty much own the F-II.

The F-II does not lock up, does cut corners perfectly, is fast, still my times are slower. I don't understand. The only reason I thought could be possible was that I had to get used to the new color scheme.

The F-II now has the standard color scheme, while my storebought has black instead of green (cause I removed the stickers, they were damaged), and I've been using it like that for two or three months before I got my F-II. I now had the F-II for like a week and I've been solving every day, so I should be used to the color scheme already.

What could be going wrong?

My times got a bit worse just from going from crappy guhong stickers to slightly brighter cubesmith standard stickers. Remember also F-II stickers are smaller. That could be having an effect.

Thanks for the answers! I'll give it a couple of more weeks, and if it doesn't get better I'll just have to stick with it. It's like Feliks says, I prefer solving my F-II and get better times with my storebought. :p

You're right, they're smaller, ánd mine are bright too (restickered F-II with Lightake stickers). Maybe I have to adjust to these new colours for a couple of more weeks.

Yeah, just give it a couple weeks. I bought a white cube instead of my usual black cube and my times on the DIY were slower than on the store-bought. give it some time. It could be the weird feeling of the cube. F-II are generally weird for me to cube with just cause of the bubble feeling and the fact that the stickers are really small.

At first I thought it was a rhetorical question. Maybe it just takes some getting used to.

Just give it some time, when I got my GuHong, I LOVED the feel of it, but I couldn't get any good times with it. I got like 3 seconds over my average, and I still do :(

Put the storebought corners and edges on the FII. After rounding the pieces it turned amazing and is my new main until I order new cubes again.

when i switched from a horribly loose cheap imitation cube to a dianshng my times got worse. you just have to get used to your nw cube. colour scheme also makes a difference my cheap imitation cube had floureent colours and purple so you also have to get used to that

It's probably because on your storebought, you have to put a lot of effort into turning. You've got used to it, so you do it on your F-II. But, because the F-II is a lot looser, you overshoot, and this is bad for your times. You'll get used to it. :)

w00t, you all were right. I just had to adjust to the new colors and feel of the cube.
I got a sub 40 avg of 5 for the first time. :D
