Hey
I'm probably going to Dutch Open 2010, which will be my first competition, but I have a few questions about it. It's going to cost me a lot of money (at least a lot of money for me) because it's on the other side of The Netherlands (I live in almost the most southern city of The Netherlands) and I'll have to wake up at about 4:30 AM, so I want to be sure I'm not going to be disappointed
(not expecting to get disappointed or anything
)
I'm not sure if this is the right subforum, but it looked like the "Official WCA Competitions" subforum wasn't the right place.
1. What exactly is Dutch Cube Day?
2. Are there like small "shops" where you can buy cubes there? If so, what kind of cubes and how much will they cost? (so I know how much money to bring)
3. Are there any people from here who are going to Dutch Open? I'm going to drop my mother off at Dierenpark Emmen but I don't want to be alone all the time or something.
4. What kind of people are there? Like around what age group, are there any people of around 14-15 etc.
5. Is there anything else I should know?
6. An unrelated question: I'm now averaging around 55 seconds. I learned Fridrich F2L 3 days ago and I'm already faster than with the LBL F2L, but still very choppy. I use 2-look OLL and 2-look PLL, planning on learning full PLL in maybe a week or so. Will I be able to average around 30-35 seconds in 2 months or is that too little time? I practice a few hours a day.
For any people who want to know: I'm planning on competing in 3x3, I ordered a QJ 4x4 today and it'll probably arrive next week, so I'll probably compete in 4x4 too, maybe in 5x5 but I don't think so because I don't have any money left now to buy one
Also I think I'll be competing in 3x3 BLD.
Thanks in advance
