Ok i just started solving cross on bottom and i avg 34 sec with cross on top. i get 40 sec solves with cross on bottom now... how long will it take for me to do my normal times and how much faster will i be in the long run of practicing it than if i was to do it on top?

ok let me rephrase it. how much faster were you when you learned cross on bottom? and what are the benefits. i know theres better lookahead and no cube rotation. anything else that is better about it?

That's pretty much it.
Or you can build it on the left.

It is a similar thing with switching from LBL to Fridrich (or, if you prefer, CFOP). At first, your times will be worse, but it will be better in the long run. My guess is that if you practice intensely for a few days, you should be able to get back to your normal times. Then, after that, it will probably be easier to improve. This is just my assumption, though. :D

thanks for the tips. after practicing for 20min my times are already back to about normal ha. im doing cross still a bit slower though. for some reason my f2l just got a lot better though like 3 sec better.

I found that cross on left was an easier transition from cross on top, if you want to explore that route. But yeah, like anything else it will take a little while to adjust whenever you try something new.

solving cross on bottom doesn't do anything for your speed. you can solve the cross either on top or on bottom less than 2 secs.
but the point is that when you do that on bottom you can detect first F2L pair faster and also a X2 move after solving it on top takes a little time .

if you wanna get faster , just work on your F2L and look ahead

Hence an increase in speed. >_>
