[Unofficial] Mats Bergsten 8 cubes Multi blind

That's really nice.
Just one question:
Video editing software?

I have done nothing, my son is doing it for me. It is a hash of C, JavaScript and Perl. He has described it in his blog http://blog.jonasbergsten.com

As to using so much time I would have liked it to be faster but this time memo was slow. I also do know rather well how long execution takes, but I had some memo lapses. Still this time it all ended well :)

And yes, I do really like outdoor cubing, at least this time of year.

Very good! I haven't tried muti-blind yet. I am guessing you do the 3OP method (like I do)? I execute corner twists first, then edge flips, then corner cycles, then edge cycles -- the reverse of how I memorize them. I suppose if I did multi-blind, I would execute like you did -- orient all of the cubes first, and then do the cycles on the cubes.

Wow, good job!

Nice idea to solve them in parallel. Do you memo in parallel as well?

Thank you. Actually I don't understand what you mean by parallel here? That I make two passes through them? That is because I find twisted corners and flipped edges the hardest thing of all with Multi. Everything else is just like normal blindsolving, just a little bit more of it. But those flipped edges and twisted corners must be memoed in another way than normal.

I memorize them during the normal memo but I rehearse them separately, so in that way maybe you are right to call it parallel.

@rjohnson 8ball: Thanks. No, I don't use 3OP. I use commutators all way through, both for corners and edges. So the extra pass is not orienting corners (and/or edges) but only fixing twisted corners already in place as described above (and ditto for edges). But you should try Multi too, you just have to have a more thorough system for memorization. I hope you get a bld solve in competition soon :)

@Maarten: yes, my speed is still not particularly high :), but the limit for me is the memo speed, the split for me was 43 memo and 15 exec. I cannot make room for more than one cube more by faster exec but can earn a lot if I can memo faster. We'll see.

And lucky for me I just made eight when you made seven :) :)

@Mike: yes, I think I told you that. So as described I start (after the first cube) to make that extra pass and then I can forget all about those twists and flips.

Hi Mats, But I am confused. Don't commutators cycle 3 pieces at a time? If your commutators flip/twist pieces, then couldn't you orient them correctly during the commutating, without needing to fix them later?

Is your way easier than orienting them all first followed by using commutators that keep the orientations?

He means that he only orients the pieces that are already correctly permuted, so he don't have to memo them as two separate pieces.

Very nice Mats! I'll need to practise if I want to keep my swedish record ;)
