Useful aplication of vhf2l?

I think you're confused about what these things do.

VHF2L - orients last layer edges while inserting last slot
COLL - orients & permutes corners of last layer
OLL - orients all last layer pieces
PLL - permutes all last layer pieces

A bit redundant.

VHF2L+COLL+EPLL is what you're looking for, I think.

Oll because not every case can be solved with vhf2l its only for cases with the pair already solved and some vhf2l cases are nasty so i would skip some. Also incase of ocll skip i would need all 21 plls

If you are only doing VHF2L I wouldn't recommend it. It would be more efficient to just use full OLL and full PLL.
Also, are you saying that you only would use COLL some of the time? because after COLL using OLL would be redundant.

That's a lot of algs. In addition, VHF2L is very hard to practice. If you think you can handle it then go for it. Judging by your sig I feel you can get faster without learning all those algs.

VHF2L is this http://jmbaum.110mb.com/zbf2l.htm (only the VH cases)
which is a subset of ZBF2L. It couldn't hurt to learn VHF2L but then again like ASK said you don't really need to.

well like i said before i wouldnt use all of vh just the fast ones so i wouldn't always be able to use coll

Lolol.

I can't tell if you are disagreeing with his/her statement or saying its nothing compared to zbf2l...

if you do COLL, the chance of an EPLL skip is 1/12

Thats pretty good. Not to mention all of the eplls are very fast.

You know, 1/12 sounded amazing to me before I started using COLL all the time. It's not as great as it sounds.. Also, while EPLLs are fast, not all COLL algs are as fast as the normal alg you would use, not to mention recognition time.

Yeah 1/12 isnt actually that much unless youre using COLL for every single solve. I use it about twice every avg12, so ill end up getting a skip about once every 6 avg12s. Which ironically is the same likelihood for getting a PLL skip as if you just did regular CFOP.
But of course, when you put them together, your chances get slightly better.
I learned COLL mainly for OH anyway.

Of course COLL algs aren't necessarily as fast as OCLL algs. But they make the PLL step significantly faster, which is the whole point of the method. This is actually mostly from recognition as the difference between actual execution is not that large. And 1/12 happens a lot more than you need but never as often as you want.

Most people won't even get 1/12 because they eventually find that the Sune and Antisune OLLs + PLL will give you a faster last layer than COLL + EPLL.

Eh, it's nice when Niklas comes up. Also, they really aren't that slow, just hard to convince yourself that they're worth learning.

If you learn full VHF2L the chance of an OLL skip is 1/27. Actually, refer to MY POST about last layer probabilities with the VH/ZB/ZZ system (EO before LL). I also don't use every VHF2L case but some of them are really nice while most of them are deceptively fast. Best of luck!

Eh, both Sune and Antisune are extremely recognizable and are easily sub 1. Some people can sub 1 them OH as well. Even though the PLL step may be faster, I don't think the little time saved on PLL would warrant a longer and slower COLL alg.
