What Do I Do!!!!

I Used WD-40 On My Cube To See If It Would Lubricate It, But When I Did My Cube Made Weird Noises From The Springers. I Wasted It Off With Soup And Water. It Still Smells Like WD-40!!!

Will My Cube Break Because My Dad Just Bought Heavy Duty Silicone Spray,
Should I Put It On Or What!!!!

Please Helpp!!

You Should Not Use WD-40, It Is Very Bad For Your Cube.

i think he figured that out, stop making generic comments based off the title, also, you washed it with soup and water???
i would clean your cube again, make sure you get the core too, and then take it apart and spray the silicone on it, wait for it to dry (about an hour) and assemble
EDIT: ninja'd on the soup thing

I want to say troll, but whatever.

I would rather put WB-40 on my cube than soup. Did you try water without the soup?

Does your soup smell like WD-40 :P

Well I Put The WD-40 Yesterday And Woke Up To See If The Cube Was Smoother Or Messed Up, And It Was Sticky And Weird Smelling.
I Was Washing It For Like 20 Min. But When I Can Home From School It Still Smelled And Sucked.

...but seriously, i put WD-40 in my megaminx, then washed it out VERY thoroughly and it still smells a little bit, but nothing has happened since

i only put it in there because it was very tight and rough (even after loosening) and i wanted to break it in quikly

One More Thing What Would Happen If I Put Vaseline In My Cube And I Washed It With Water And Soup And Put Heavy Duty Silicone Spray?
Will It Become Worse?

well you should've looked around asking for a good lubricant instead of using WD-40 in the first place. Honestly, i dont know what to do. you've pretty much ruined your cube. wash it out as much as you can and see what you can do.

edit: dont use vaseline either. Ive had AWFUL experiences with it. vaseline is just as bad as WD-40. USE THE SILICONE AND THE SILICONE ONLY.

can we plz stop bumping this thread seriously he is obviously a troll or has absolutely no common sense

No, he just made a mistake, has a serious problem, and is now asking for help. Please, go on somewhere.

OP: You might've damaged the springs :(. I did this to my old storebought. The only thing you can do is get a new cube, or get new screws and springs and mod it. That's assuming you're using a storebought.

Maybe it'll help if you take it apart, use some kind of deodorant on it to overcome the bad smell and then work in some silicone spray with a cloth and a brush.
I had a lot of beer in some of my cubes once, but after a lot of silicone they came back to normal again. (The Eastsheen 4x4 is even better now.)

If this doesn't work, the only chance i see for you is the water from Lake Zurich.
That seems to be a great lube. Turned a not-so-good storebought into a great one.

Apparently WD-40 contains various hydrocarbons, so a non-polar solvent such as hexane, diethyl ether, or benzene should do the trick... water is kind of useless, as the entire point of WD-40 is to resist water. Water as a solvent doesn't work too well on nonpolar substances anyway.

Diethyl ether also evaporates pretty quickly, so if it does anything else to your cube, it should be relatively short lived.
