Hi guys,

I was wondering how you warm up your hands before cubing. I have quite cold hands before I start cubing so I was wondering if there's a better way.
I moslty just stretch my hands and do a couple of solves, but I thaught you might have some better ways or tips :D

Tristan Wright soaks his hands in warm water.

I don't do much, just cube.

I like soaking them in warm water.
Or I sit on them....
I think the first method is a little more conventional and useful, though.

I'm good at cubing after swim practice, but definitely not after running.

I'm better in the afternoon than in the morning.

I'm better before playing video games than after (hands get cold for some reason).

Before all of my square-1 solves at Bristol, I mixed boiling and cold water in a polystyrene cup and poured it over my hands slowly. I get terrible cold hands. I can barely type now =/

This is due to your hands being elevated to hold the controller or use the keyboard. Bloodflow is decreased somewhat which causes your hands to be a little cooler than if they were down to your sides. I used to play video games competitively and had this issue. One thing that can help is to make sure that your hands are below the level of your elbows.

I keep a practice pad and drumsticks next to my computer desk and sometimes play a little to warm up. The warm water trick works pretty well, but you need to hold them under the water for a few minutes or else you are really only warming your skin.

make a really tight fist, Im talking really tight. Then hold it for a while let go and repeat. Then stretch out your fingers.

Sit on them
Down your pants
In water
Breath on them
Take something hot (like freshoutofthetoaster Poptarts) and hold it
ect ect

Remind me to never touch your cube.
Literal lol, and I don't very often while I'm on the computer.

I sometimes put them in between the back of the thigh and back of the calves (i. e. back of the kneecap) and close. I do this with armpits sometimes, but that's a little embarrassing.

I usually pop my fingers so they are all lose and fast.

I generally just do practice solves to warm up.

And just so you don't do it in the future, this forum section is posting Guides/How-tos, not asking questions. Use the first section for posts like these.

Generally I don't need to.

Although I cube really well after using a lawn-mower or some sort of lawn-care tool outside. That tingly feeling makes me faster.
