Hey everyone:) so today I have found out that I have to write a nine page essay on anything that I want, due in about four weeks.

I chose to write about how speed cubing came to how it is:)

but, I can only have ONE Internet source. So, what website has the most usefull information, facts, etc. Do you know?

This one?

What kinda research only limits you to one single source? That sounds stupid. And for nine pages..

Anyway your best bet might be the wiki..if it's considered a credible source. I doubt this forum would be of much use.

If the teacher's asking for only one internet source, they probably intend for you to do most of your resource with books. Unless one of the recent cube books happens to have a lot of history in it - I think "The Cube: The Ultimate Guide to the World's Bestselling Puzzle - Secrets, Stories, Solutions" might be a good resource but I haven't actually read it - this might not be the best topic to do this research paper on. If you can't find any really good sources soon I suggest leaving this topic for another assignment.

A lot of information you find on the internet can be cited as a non internet scource if it is an excert from a book, newspaper, journal, etc.

1 internet source. The rest of her research has to come from actual books.

Right. Silly me :fp

well actually, I am not doing it only on the history, but everything. different type of cubes, different ways to solve, the competitions, the popularity, etc, etc. I need at the least, five sources. one internet, and the rest book, magazies, articles, interviews, etc.

Yeah that is what I figured I would do. I can interview tons of people on here. I am buying two books, and using this as a source, plus interviews.

The source limitation is probably going to make this nearly impossible for you to do. I have obtained almost all of my cubing knowledge from the internet. Unless you could get interviews with people through the internet.
Edit: Ninja'd

Yeah, choose something different if this is the case. There are probably a couple of books at your library, but they are probably solution books. Rubik's Cube speed solving lives on the internet, pretty much. I learned everything I know about the cube from this forum and looking up solutions and methods and happening by chance on history.

What about the WCA website? Or is it just considered well known who holds the records and such.

Ahaha what a coincidence, I going to do a speech on Rubik's cubes. But it's more of a persuasive speech on why it's not as hard as people think.
I think the wiki would be a really good source and easier to search. But it might not be "reliable".

Well this is definitly going to be my Internet source. If I have a question, I can just ask it on here, and it would still be my one website:)

I went to my teacher with the topic and she is glad that I chose a challenging one. I also gave her my sub topics or whatever. From solving to how fast you can solve, the different cubes, and the question "hobby or sport?". She says I could possibly write the whole paper on sport or hobby but that wouldn't be fun.
