Title says it all. I suspect that the answer is no, and that CxLL or EG will be suggested, but I would be interested to hear from you all. What you do, etc... Even with guimond, I have a fairly sticky cube, so I only average around 10 seconds. Oh yeah, another good point, although just a side note - best cube?

LBL, average ~9 seconds. And I hate 2x2. Try practicing it more-I'm sure Guimond would be cool in competition, and could become popular if someone got fast with it.

I use a mix of Ortega and CLL (only know around 12 cases). I average sub-4.

Guimond doesn't seem too popular but a bunch of people I know uses it and it would be nice to know it just so if you have first step skipped you can use it.

As for the cube, I'm sure most people will suggest Lanlan.

When I started with Guimond I regarded it as a 3-look system, just like Ortega or LBL, but the reality is that it can be (and is) a 2-look system. Because the orientation phase is very few moves (in comparison to Ortega's OLL phase), the subsequent separation phase can also be planned during inspection. This means that an experienced Guimond solver can take the cube to the PBL (XLL) phase in the first set of moves - the same set of moves that a CLL/EG solver uses to build the first layer. Now comparing with CLL/EG .. the second step for both of these methods requires a fair number of algs, and the recognition and execution practice that goes with it. PBL is just 5 algs. That's 5 algs which can be practiced to death! ;)
