I have a couple of bad habits that always penalize my solvetimes greatly.

I really try to break these bad habits but they always return sooner or later.
Like:

* Putting F2L pairs in the wrong slot (I do this so often it's embarrassing)

* Using y and y' instead of U and U' when trying to recognize the last layer :fp

* Not using M and M' when useful in cross-making

* Overestimating my cubes ability to cut corners resulting in unnecessary locks

* Finishing my OLL when noticing that I messed up the cross :fp:fp

* Solving the cube with a too firm grip resulting in locks/pops

What are you bad habits you try to break away from?

Solving the cross normally instead of x-crossing.

Getting wildly inconsistent times.

Screwing up algs.

AUF'ing like crazy on the LL.

Holding the cube while starting the timer on the computer.

Randomly R U R' U' x6'ing and H-Perming while watching youtube videos.

Messing up the permutation of my cross.

Using Fridrich instead of practicing Roux.

Not looking ahead enough.

Always having my logo facing a certain way. If it's not, I make it.

And maybe some more, if I can think of them.

Using y and y' instead of U and U' when trying to recognize the last layer basically. I don't think I can name more.

ΕDIT: I also rotate the cube during F2L instead of inserting pairs from different angles.

That has ruined my life. I always need the logo pointed to green. The first thing I do when I get a V-CUBE out of the box is rotate the V from red to green. I don't know why.

Also, making sure that all of the threads on the home page for speedsolving have been visited so none are bold. This is a TERRIBLE habit.

Not to look at the timer when solving and not to look to the audience when solving :D

Because of the second one I lost a NR :p

Edit.. No, because of both :D When I wouldn't look at the timer then I wouldn't look at the audience.. I think.

And I always tend to watch the time when I have completed the edge pairing in 5x5 and then I'll know what time I will have.

Basic bad habits,

looking at timer, unnecessary/inefficient AUF during ll

desperately looking for an f2l pair only to find it an R U R' away

excessive cube rotations, especially during f2l

not finishing pll, yet... (2 Gs left to get used to then on to N and V, then done...)

Looking at the timer after i have finished F2L

Pairing up the wrong pieces (for example, pairing the WGO edge with the GR edge.

Unnecessary Us in F2L

Going too fast during F2L

Look at the timer after i finished edge pairing on all cubes

I put my logo to red. Only when the cube is solved and not being used though.
