Andy Tsao won the EPGY California Open 2008 with an average of 13.49 seconds. Leyan Lo finished second (14.51) and Lucas Garron finished third (15.23).
North American records: Nick Young Square-1 25.86 (single) 31.48 (average).
Asian records: Takao Hashimoto Square-1 24.08 (single) 29.73 (average).

I'm happy to see that Lars Petrus was compeating, he newer gives up this sport. Only he and Guus that are still active among those who was at the first world cup. (I hope Jessica will come back into competiton but it was a while since now)

I agree, Lucas - very nice job on the speedsolving. So sorry to hear about the bad luck at BLD - especially the fairly close 4x4x4 solves.

Mike, I think Rowe was actually closer, only off by 2 edges. It was a 7:46 though, but still... really close. AND he only used one attempt.

Thanks! I was really excited when I got it, it was only about my fourth or fifth success ever, my 1/3 in contest in way better than my record at home. To be fair, at least 10 of the centers were solved, and the edges were a nice 23 cycle, not like 5 swaps that often throw me off. But it was really cool!
