I heard the core breaks easily on the Fii and i was wondering if you can switch out the core to a C4Y core

Well, I'm pretty sure you can. Whether it's good or not is something I do not konw. I bet it would be worth a try though.

I've never heard anything about the F-II core being easily broken... I "man-handled" one of my two a lot just to test the cores integrity, and it seems mostly unaffected. My F-I is one of my best cubes as well, never got crappy as people say they do... It just depends on the cube you got

I've tried a C4Y core in a FII and was under-whelmed. I have several hybrids and love them but I recomend keeping your FII stock.

Yes, you can switch them (I just tried). The C4Y core/screw/springs work with the F-II cubies (even the centerpieces), but I agree with Howsuneisnow, the resulting cube isn't as good as the original F-II.

Did you try the springs backwards?

*bump*
I just did the opposite - C4Y cubies with an FII core. My C4Y cubies are pillowed though because I had nothing else to do with them at that moment - my C4Y core sucks.

It's very nice btw, but I wish that I hadn't pillowed those cubies now. :/

Both my girlfriend and I got FII's from C4Y not long ago. Hers is white, mine is black. She put hers in her sweatshirt pocket and the core broke. My cube has been dropped at least 5 times and it's still fine. I have no idea what to think of it. Also, her core is light blue and mine is white.

I've thought of replacing my core with the C4Y one I have but I don't really see a reason to; mine seems plenty strong to me.
