Ok, so yesterday I got two of my cubes from www.popbuying.com. One was a Type A V Black and the other was a Type C I Blue. Since I'm new to the forum I don't know if I'm doing this right. Please comment on my mistakes.

Type A V Black

attachment.php

I assembled and broke it in for about an hour and it was awesome. I put some Cubesmith textured tiles on it.

Here's the scoring -

Speed : Fast. It feels different from other cubes. Score : 9/10
Weight : Very light. Because it is light, it is very fast. 9.5/10
Corner Cutting : Not very good, but alright. 8/10
Popping resistance : Good if at a perfect tension. 9/10
Reaction to lube : Wonderful. It increased the corner cutting by about 5 degrees, and it got faster and smoother. The method I used was the disassemble and lube method. Score 8.5/10
Smoothness : Kind of rough at the beginning but after lube, it gets smoother. 8/10

Comments : It's a overall very good cube. It looks cool because of it's weird edges and centers. It works fine with Jig-a-loo. Plus it is very light, which makes it very speedy too. This is a very nice cube.

Type C I Blue

I put Cubesmith stickers on it. Note : This is a Type C I retooled (I think) with the tabs for the caps to fall off easier. It's core and springs are replaced with C4U's because in the package, they didn't give me springs. (werid) I assembled this before the Type A V, and it was very good even before lubing. After I broke it in a bit and lubed it. It was awesome.

Here's the scoring -

Speed : Super fast. That's all I have to say. Score : 10/10
Weight : Light, but not as light as the Type A V. 8/10
Corner cutting : Good after lubed. Not the best also. 8/10
Popping resistance : I've played with it for a day, and it only popped once. Overall good popping resistance. 9/10
Reaction to lube : When lubed, it becomes very good. Corner cutting increased, speed increased and the smoothness increased. The method I used was the disassemble and lube method 9.5/10
Smoothness : Smooth. Has a nice feeling to it. 9/10

Comments : Very nice cube. I don't know if the retooled and orignial make a difference but it is better than my grey one I got from Cube4you.

Score :

Speed - Type C I Blue wins (10/10).
Weight - Type A V wins (9.5/10)
Corner Cutting - Tie (8/10)
Popping resistance - Tie (9/10)
Reaction to lube - Type C I Blue wins (9.5/10)
Smoothness - Type C I Blue wins (9/10)

Overall score:

Type A V Black - 86.6%
Type C I Blue - 89.1%

Type C I wins...

Thanks for reading this review. Sorry if I have many mistakes. I hope this helped for all cubers.

Damn stickers for $5.00? That's a bit expensive :/. Also, can you provide the links for the cubes on popbuying?

Good review. I'm going to buy a type a5 (mainly because feliks' WR was set with one). I agree that the type c is very good, however it's better with a c4u core in it.

This is a very nicely done review. Thanks for the effort!

Popping resistance : Good if at a perfect tension. 9/10

My one issue with the review. What is the perfect tension? What is popping like if not at perfect tension? Too tight? Too loose? These things are very good to know.

It's good at a medium tight tension for my style of cubing. I don't know if it will fit yours. Thanks

Good reviews. Nice first post. Welcome to the forums!

Thanks

Yeah, I agree the C4U core rocks on the type C. I hope your time improves.

How long did it take for you to get your order from popbuying?
I got it in 14 days.

Hi! I'm currently making an independent website about cube reviews. The website is called3x3 "Speedcubes: Pics and little Info". I plan on collecting pictures on cubes and even cube reviews to make my site more objective of its purpose.

You can use my review if you want, but it might be a little bit clumsy, because it was my first post. :/

you gotta grade these cubes a little harsher

I think he graded fine, seeing as the type C and A-V are generally one of the better cubes.

He also told which he thought was better, so it's not like he's not evaluating them at all.

Also, good first post Koreancuber... much better than some people's...

do you know the sku numbers for these cubes on popbuying
if you do, it would be very helpful.
thanks

You can all get these from SaberSlash49's Popbuying Puzzle List thread which is http://www.speedsolving.com/forum/showthread.php?t=18103.

thanks so much

also, i recommend the YJ 3x3x3 on popbuying. i bought it a couple months ago and it is a very nice cube. its cuts corners like a charm, is very fast without lube, and tends to not pop very often. i think it is a great cube.

thanks again:)
