Hi,

When I got my Type CII cube last year, it was incredible. After some time it needed re-lubing and I did it with my lube which I use for all of my cubes and I never had problems with it (NIGRIN Silikon Gleitspray). 1 Week later my cube was very bad and I thought I clean it and re-lube it again.. after the lube was dry it was nice for like 1 hour and then it began to lock up and everything and was very stiff. I tried everything until I cleaned the lube out of the cube yesterday with a microfiber-cloth and now it is incredible again. So what is the problem? There is so much cubedust (or whatever the grayish dirt on the cubies is) when I lube this cube. Is it my lube or is it just that this cube should not be lubed? What about your CII? I'm very confused.. that is my only cube which is better without lube.

My CII also needs relubing after around a week. Doesn't matter much though because it's still incredible without relubing. I've never cleaned it.

No, It sucks when I lube it.. I just thought that it needs relubing, but it's better without.

Yes, but not on that cube. I'll try some other spray, maybe it's better then.

After killing my CII with silicone spray I tried shock oil (got it from a local hobby shop), now it's just like new.

My CII started feeling tight so I loosened it a little but then it started popping a lot (1/10 solves with a few nice explosions every 30 or so).
Relubed it with CRC silicone, tightened it and now it's fine again. I never got pops when it was new but I am getting pops now that it's worn in but pieces only slightly come out and only happen 1/50 solves.
I like the feel of my CII over my FII but it isn't quite as good at corner cutting.

I have found that CII's are better without lube. Even then, though, they deteriorate. For about a month it was my main cube. Then it started popping, then jamming, and now it won't cut corners for money. I switched to a type FI recently with pretty good results, though I know that will also decay.
