what did YOU do when approaching sub 30?

Working on F2L. I use intuitive F2L + 2 look OLL + full PLL (Fridrich). I'm not a sub30 cuber though. I'm sub35 average because I do sub30 solves sometimes and 40 second solves other times. This is simply because I only started Fridrich 3 weeks ago and memorized all the algorithms for 2 look OLL / full PLL in a couple days so while some PLLs I can solve really fast from muscle memory, others I still need to think so they take a lot longer.

After I learned those algorithms, what I've been doing everyday is pretty much training look ahead on F2L, and I pick up one of the PLLs I still have to think to do and "turn it" into muscle memory.

So basically, this is my advice. At first looking ahead was killing my times but now it's not so hard anymore and it really made me faster (I had huge breaks after each pair) so just train it. Go slow on F2L on every solve, and go as fast as you can on last layer. Then just learn one PLL algorithm a day to finish full PLL, and when you're done, turn them all into muscle memory (if they aren't already).

i learn 2 PLL's a day. probably doesn't stay in my muscle memory though. i work on f2L as much as i can. how long did it take for you to see results?

Like I said, 3 weeks ago I didn't even know what Fridrich was so it didn't take long. I started looking ahead like 10 days ago if that's what you want to know, but I have been cubing a lot since I'm on vacations.

look-ahead is making my times waay more consistent. i have also been cubing lots, since i'm on winter break, but i guess that ends tomorrow. school :(

i guess it's just a matter of days before my first sub 30
Yep, I have school tomorrow also =(
I'm re ally sad that the break is over
You just have to keep going and eventually you'll speed up!
good luck with that!

When I was around 40s I am already using almost full Fridrich. I just do them real slowly. I still do them slowly but not as slowly as I practice more or change algorithms.

I average sub-30 and have only memorized 16/21 of PLL's. Here are my breakdowns. F2L is a must.

The cross was solved after scramble and you also got a PLL skip? Or just a mistake? anyway I like your F2L times... I suppose you look ahead right? How fast can you go with a metronome? (bpm)

Oh and by the way, 2 look OLL?

I'm usually sub 25 with 4lll And I don't even know e perm. If u want sub 30 for bout a month scramble then solve crss and f2l over and over
