Do OLLs effect which PLL you get?

I only recently started learning full OLL, but I've noticed that almost every time I get this T shape OLL, it is followed by a T-perm.

Is this just some crazy coincidence, or are certain permutations more common depending on the OLL that preceded it?

Wow, it must be a heck of a coincidence, because that OLL has only came up about 6 or 7 times so far for me, and I swear I got the T perm after it at least 5 of those times :p

they don't, but they also do.

set your cube up with this R U2 R' U' R U' R'
that's the inverse of the most popular sune alg, R U R' U R U2 R'.
there's other sune algs than that, which effect where the pieces will go.
if you perform R U R' U R U2 R' while the OLL is sune, the ULM edge will switch with the URM edge, which switches with the UBM edge.
the UFR will switch with the UBL corner, and the UFL corner will switch with the UBR corner.

when you perform R U R' U R U2 R',
ULM-URM-UBM CCW edge cycle
UFR-UBL corner swap, UFL-UBR corner swap

now if we set up the cube with a different algorithm(although the orientation will be the same as if you performed R U2 R' U' R U' R'), the permutation of the pieces could be different.

let's set the cube up with L' U R U' L U R'
the edges are already permuted, but 3 corners have been cycled clockwise(UBL-UBR-UFR).

with the sune orientation showing, let's use the R U R' U R U2 R' algorithm.

WAIT! the setup earlier solved the cube! it's still the sune, but it didn't solve!

well, you could've solved it with R U' L' U R' U' L.

see what i mean about the OLL effecting which PLL you can get?

The OLL does affect the permutation of pieces, but it can't make you have a certain PLL. It just switches the pieces around depending on the algorithm you use.
Coincidence.

PLL- permutation of the last layer. what you said made no sense.

OLL effects PLL. He's saying whatever happens during OLL will effect PLL.
Therefore, what he said made sense.
I just think he's trying to say that whatever algorithm he's using tends to cause him to get a T permutation.

What IamWeb said made sense. What you just said made no sense. To paraphrase what he said: The OLL doesn't cause the same PLL to happen every time, but it does permute the pieces somehow.

EDIT: Ninja'd by 2 people. >.< I should've refreshed after fixing my internet.

I said that it moves the pieces around (affects permutation), but certain OLLs don't cause certain PLL cases.
different OLL's usually cause different permutations, as showed in my previous post. if it effects permutation, it effects PLL(permutation of the last layer).

sorry for a dp, but the bolded words in web's original post contradict each other.

It all depends on what pieces are where.
For the last time, he's saying that the OLL DOES switch around the pieces in some way and that just because that happens, does not mean you will get the same PLL case very time.

unless you know one look last layer.
