Since the original Rubiks cube came out, companies/people have been making bigger and smaller versions. They have added more layers and sides. there are now 7x7s! People have been building 8x8s, 9x9s, 11x11x, 12x12s, and even more! There is even a gigaminx! And the megaminx takes me awhile! Now James from Cube4You has made a teraminx! Someone's even made a petaminx and examinx! Will people ever stop making bigger puzzles? Will it ever become impossible to make larger?

Personally, the 7x7 feels good in the hands, not TOO big, anything bigger could be hard to handle. However, I'm VERY excited to see what else comes, and can't wait to get my hands on some of these big cubes like a 12x12!

Until the cost of manufacturing outweighs the demand for the product.
You can imagine this as a graph also, as the cubes get bigger there is less demand (the prices would also be higher), thus there would be a certain point where there wouldn't be enough demand for larger cubes to be made, at which point manufacturers go back and refine older products, make variations (like the v7 dazzler or mirror cube) of them, or search of new types of puzzles.

An example of this is Rubik's Inc. Once they had sizes 2x2 - 5x5 down they refined them once or twice made variations of them and now they're looking into new stuff like the 360 and the touch cube.

So as long as there's a market for larger and larger puzzles they'll keep growing. I refrained from so many innuendos writing this.
