Well, I just can't hold it in any longer, my twistypuzzles.com account is still awaiting verification and the description on this forum says "about solving rubiks cubes and other twisty puzzles" so I'll just assume that means custom ones too
.
Just finished her today, it was actually a really simple mod:
its actually a lot harder than just solving four 3x3's since certain moves are restricted. I can usually solve a 3x3 in 35-45 seconds, well this beast took me almost 20 minutes to solve my first time. I ended up using the original beginners method I learned that only uses 3 algs since almost none of the fridrich algs work on this thing and f2l would be really hard as well. One nifty thing about it is that it almost forces you to start on a different color each time.
I'm probably going to slap some cubesmith stickers on the whole thing and put it up on ebay just to see how much I can get.
PS - I really want to see someone do this blindfolded but I'm not sure that's even possible. Almost none of the algs work, and it would require some INSANE setup moves even for orientation.
PPS - I can get a video of it if anyone wants.
