Components: Tropicalestore Pyraminx, CRC

Scenario: I clean it and lube it. It's awesome. I do ten solves. It's back to its normal, slightly less than mediocre state. Any ideas?

Did you do any solving before lubing? I've found that in general, if I haven't broken in a puzzle before lubing, lubing is not as effective and must be done more often.

Yeah, but did you lube it right away? Or did you solve it regularly for six months before lubing it?

That pyraminx was really low quality for me and I found reacts terribly to silicone. I had the same problem as you, so I kept siliconing it, and then one of my corners stopped turning. I took it apart and the whole inside was melted!!!! Worse puzzle ever! (it was also CRC) I would just suggest buying a new one.

Fixed it. It's good now.

four words:

one answer question thread

This was an adequate question about the puzzle, posted in the correct forum. If it was incorrect a herd of screaming people would have bashed him into the ground.

So find something that's actually in the incorrect spot before using your 'four words'

Yeah. I'm no mod but I don't see any reason why this question shouldn't have its own thread.

Haha. That's funny.

Anyway, if someone else has this problem, it's easier to find it when seaching the forum if it has its own thread.

Sorry for sounding so harsh. It just makes me mad that when I do something wrong I instantly get flamed, yet others do not. Sorry JTW

Damn, he figured it out guys. The gig's up. He knows we're all out to get him now.

Uh. Actually, I seem to be the only one who agrees with you. I should have posted this in the one answer question thread. I guess thinking back on it, there were a few reasons why I made a thread. I needed the Pyraminx the next day, for Stanford Fall. I've also had bad luck with my questions being skipped in the OAQT, and didn't want to deal with that for a question I needed an answer to. Had I had the time, I actually do agree that the one answer question thread would have been superior.

As for what I did, I disassembled it, cut a bunch of flash off, cleaned it, reassembled, and lubed with CRC. It's still pretty good.
