CoD: Modern Warfare 2

So, as many of you gamers know, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is being released tonight at midnight. I myself am not much of a gamer, but I'm a huge fan of the Call of Duty series and I've been anticipating this game for a while. I think this might be the game that'll get me back on Xbox Live on a semi-regular basis again.

So, what are your thoughts/comments/concerns/hopes for this game?

I don't have a 360 but I'm still addicted to do it. My next-door neighbor and best friend has the 360 and I'm there all the time. I would def be skipping school tomorrow to play it all day if I had the 360. Lots of kids at my high school are cutting to play it.

I would skip school, but my parents aren't having any of that. Plus I have a fairly huge AP chem test tomorrow that my teacher wouldn't be too happy to hear that I missed it for a video game. I'm just glad I'm allowed to go to the midnight release to get it. I'm going to be running on <4 hours of sleep tomorrow.

cod 4 = crap because of juggernaut and the m16a4 being overused
cod 5 = crap because of mp40....
so how is this new one gona be any better....

i think the single player campaign on cod 4 and 5 were amazing
but boths multiplayers were terrible and is why i got rid of my 360

eg. juggernaut was seriously overused....
- people being wimps by hiding in one place for donkeys hours
- people going round in teams as if they are actually fighting for their country
- the mp40 on cod5 was the reason the whole game sucked
- probaly tons more but im too tired to think
so they have their ups and downs but multiplayer is just pointless unless you play it 24/7

Basically you shoot up an entire airport of innocent civilians.

cod 4 = crap
cod 5 = crap
how is this new one gona be any better....

CoD 4 was awesome, but I agree with your verdict on CoD5.

I played it this past weekend at a friend's house. The game was leaked and although I wasn't willing to risk getting banned from XBL to play it, he was. lol.
When we signed on there were about 25,000 other people playing it online, pretty ridiculous.
I don't recommend trying it though, he ended up getting banned.

The game is amazing.

I have a friend that got an early copy because his mom owns a video rental store. The games were distributed to retailers on Thursday or so if I'm not mistaken, so he's had it for a few days, I don't think he was banned for playing it though.

I used to be a BF2 gamer, best & only good FPS in my opinion. My friend has been telling me to buy a PS3 & get the game. But I don't really want to get addicted to anything (besides cubing) right now.

Oh my god i'm so excited! I'm trying hard to go to the midnight premiere. I'm glad they put martyrdom as a deathstreak, but i rather they take it out COMPLETELY.

i did like bf bad company but the respawn time was seriously a joke if you died you had to wait 20 seconds to respawn

I agree with that, the single player campaign is just too awesome. They made it feel like you're in a movie. one of the best (or probably THE best) FPS games I've played.

Maybe you'd appreciate CoD4 multiplayer if it was on a competition level. We have them regularly here. organized LAN gaming is much better than online gaming IMO. Plus you just have to find the right people to play with.

Juggernaut and martyrdom suck as perks. You only need juggernaut if you are an easy target and get shot at too easily (i.e. you're bad). Martyrdom also sucks because it's only useful when you die. If you plan on dying a lot then sure, use it. Multiplayer is fun if you don't play with crappy players.

About MW2, the PC version got totally limited with online play. I really don't think this game will meet my expectations I had for it. I don't play FPS for consoles.

really really hated martyrdom. Why reward someone for dying, and punish someone for getting a kill? Juggernaut wasn't too bad, still annoying though. But hopefully the copycat deathstreak will stop the " it's because you have better weapons" complaint.
