hi guys... so
i've been searching the forum, and couldnt find what i needed..
it just tells you what cubes are good, and whats not..:(

so today, i got this old type a cube that i ordered from e bay.
it came with pieces, springs, core, and some stickers..

After i oriented the cube.. i found out that if i loosen the centers, the speed is fast, but the edges and corners pops up easily....
however, when i tighten the centers, it's the opposite. the speed is horrible, but the pieces dont pop out.

the problem is, when i find my best tention ( best speed with no pieces popping out), the speed is still horrible... it's worse than my store bought rubix cube =(

what should / can i do to make my type a faster, but also making the pieces not pop that often..? ( is lubing a good idea ..?)

Lube would probably help.

With my old type A set at a good tension, like yours, It doesn't pop and the speed isn't that great, but I don't really mind, I can still get alright times with it.
Its not my main speedcube though..

Personally, I hate the old Type A, but I would recommend a few things:

-Work on your turning accuracy. No cube should have to be so tight that it's difficult to move in order to avoid pops.
-Make sure the screws are in straight.
-Make sure the tension is even.
-Make sure the center caps are on when you test it. This may seem unnecessary, but they help the cubies stay in alignment.
-Maybe lube it. It'll die within a few months anyway though.
