okay, I think pretty much everyone knows that lubing your cube makes it run smoother, and that silicon-based stuff works best. But I've got a few questions about lubing your cube.
1.Since your opening up your cube, is it possible for it to not be able to go back together,or break?
and
2.Does vaseline work?
and last
3.How long must it dry for?
Thanks.:)

1. The only way you can do this is when inserting your knife, you catch a corner or something like that, in which case the bottom part of the corner may fall of. Some simple super glue will fix that though, so no worries.

2.I would not suggest vaseline, it can wear down your cube, make your stickers fall of, as well as leaving a little gunk in your cube.

3. For silicon? If you are just popping 3 cubes out, you just put them back in turn for a little while. If you are going to spray all of your pieces, I would suggest letting them sit overnight, and then wiping the excess off of the pieces.

Vaseline worked for me for like 1 hour and then my cube died. o.O
And then there was lots of junky black gooey stuff in it. =/

Vaseline does work. But after a while, I started seeing parts of black in it. It seems like it deteriorates the cube, but not to the point you can't play with it.
Do yourself a favor and buy some silicone spray (preferably CRC, in the red bottle). It dries almost instantly and it works as well as the Rubiks.com syringe lube.
