Does anyone here play around with or work with Photoshop?
I'm self taught and do some abstract type things, mostly with just brushes, filters, and layer mixing etc.. such as my Avatar for example (which was a very simple & fast project, but I have more complicated ones on another computer)

Anyway, if you do have some things, feel free to share :p

I have taken a class for photoshop, although I don't have it at home because of the cost.

Yeah, I use it mostly for computer rendering. I'm a massive Star Wars nerd, so all of my projects are Star Wars related. Fun stuff though.

I use photoshop for extended bitmaps and things like that, mostly for Microsoft Flight Simulator. Generally, I'm not very good at it, but I've mastered a lot of the tricks for textures and repaints.

I taught myself Photoshop and I liek to think I'm pretty good at it. I've designed several web templates/forum skins and am currently helping out with graphics for an indie MMO project

I like messing around in PS with my drawing tablet, that's probably it.

I have been using Photoshop for many years now, and I love it. I want to mess with Adobe Illustrator sometime; I have heard it is just as good if not better.

I'm a freelance graphic designer, so Photoshop is one of my most utilized tools. What are you looking for exactly? I have a bunch of resources I can give you. Believe it or not, a good place to start would be the official PS support page here. Another pretty good place is Planet Photoshop.

Illustrator and Photoshop are both excellent programs, but they serve two very different functions. It's not really something you can easily compare. I personally use Illustrator more often, but only because of the type of design work I produce. If you're looking for crazy-advanced photo manipulation, use Photoshop. If you want to do vector art (like cel-shading), Illustrator is where it's at. Kinda' apples and oranges, if you get my meaning.
