:D

Later to day, at 6 pm local time, Reese will do shot put in a park in Stockholm - Sweden. The competition is named "Big Shot". I will try to go there and se if i can meet him.

As i mentioned earlier in this thread there was a Shot Put competition in a park in Stockholm yesterday.

I went there hoping to meet mister Reese Hoffa in person and to get a opportunity to discus some cubing with him.

After the Shot Put competition and prize ceremony i went "back stage" through a tent were the competitors was waiting for there turn in the competition. On the other side Reese was sitting on a bench. I started by showing him a 3x3 cube and he just said "heey a cube" and smiled. I explained that i was a member of a swedish cube club.

He was eager to show what method he was using so he borrowed my cube and showed me how he solved it. It was a keyhole F2L method where he also used the empty slot to fix the edges in the last layer before inserting the last two pieces in the F2L. After this he solved the corners in LL. (I'm not 100% sure this is what he did sins he only showed it ones). I don't know the name of this method but i think he found it on the internet.

When i showed him my 7x7 cube he was very impressed and first asked me if it was real! Then he he asked me how i built it :p He hade only seen cubes up to 5x5 before this, he hade also solved the 4x4 and 5x5 but i think he hade forgotten how to do it now. Obviously i hade to ask him to pose with it in same way as in the photoshop job above done by Anton Bergman, a member of the Swedish forum Svekub :D

He was also asking for hints on how to get faster (i recommended the Youtube guides and good look ahead). He also liked my cube, his was mush stiffer he told me (he had a Rubik's original 2x2 in his training bag, but not his 3x3). I almost regret that i didn't donate my cube to him but i think i will mail him and ask for his home address and send a good cube to his place.

I also told him that it would be fun if he cud attend a cube competition some time in the future and he agreed!

I think he relay appreciated this cube talk, he was the last man to leave the competitors aria, they hade to come and get him!

And he was a very nice guy!

Me and Reese with cubes!

By the way, the results in the shot put competition was really great! Tomasz Majewski won with 21.95 and Reese Hoffa was second with 21.53, both results are better then the wining results from the Beijing olympics!

After my brother expalined how Reese solves the cube I understand he uses keyhole F2L with Heise LL, or maybe some variation, but it sounds like Heise to me...
