I recently found a way to recognize G perms. I still hesitate for about a second and a half though. Does anyone have a really fast way to recognize g perms.

You can choose between being an idiot and figuring out where the corner cycle is, then looking for the edge cycle, and figuring out which G it is. Or you can look for the "headlights", then identify which G it is based on where the 1x1x2 block is in relation to the headlights. :)

only way :D Only good way.

First I look to see whether the 1X2 block is the two closest to me (UR edge and UFR corner) or farthest from me (UR edge and URB corner). next I look to see whether the first corner clockwise of the 1x2 block needs to go to the spot clockwise or counter clockwise. It works really well for me and isn't that hard, but is confusing to explain. I think I might make a video on it soon, we'll see. good luck.

i AUF so the 1x1x2 block is solved. then i look at the other sticker on the side with the 1x1x2 block. it's sometimes opposite and sometimes not. also, i look at which side the 1x1x2 block is on (if it's the URF corner and UF edge or the ULF corner and UF edge) to choose an alg. all of my G-perm algs are almost the same. they're normal, mirrored, backwards, and mirrored and backwards, although i have no idea anymore which one is which.

It's not very complicated. Just keep the headlights on the L face, then match up the 1x1x2 block (perhaps using AdF). You'll know which is which depending on where the 1x1x2 block is in relation to you.

I learned just 1 G-perm then mirrored left/right and took the inverse to generate all 4 G-perms. So I place the 1x1x2 block first (on top front left or top front right), then find the headlights to determine if I need to do the inverse. (I also make sure it is not actually an R, Y, or V perm.)
