"New 3x3 Speed Cube" from cubeforyou

I have lots of experience with that, lol.

Its the JSK clone.
Its fast, but it wears out over time, and loses its initial feeling.

I hybrid mine with C4y edges, and its fast.

That is what I was wondering! It sure has a jsk color scheme.....

Well I already bought it WITH EXPRESS shipping so it won't take a whole month to freaking get here. I'll actually make a review of it since it isn't redundant and over done, like all the idiots making old type a and v cube set reviews purely for comments, views, and subs.

Cubes=life

How much time we talking here? Is the thing going to last me like half a year? At least? How does it weigh compared to the life span of a v 5 =P

I have 2 of them in fact.

Hmm, i got them in october of 2008, and around february, it started feeling... less crisp and not fast anymore. There were a lottt of friction grooves and it was quieter. When they first arrive, they have a springy noise.

I think it lasts around the same time as a white V5 in my opinion.

The biggest problem with it is the fact that the screws may come out, however, i fixed this with loctite.

At some point I wanted to order a JSK, I was hoping to get an official one off Tribox but have never got round to it. I have also seen those C4U Clones that you linked to and was tempted and referred to them, but, for some reason I just didn't bother.

But now I have found my solution! I came across a website similar to DealExtreme with the free postage and all that jazz. Anyway, they had a "Magic Puzzle Cube Kit With Tools" that looks almost identical to all the other clone boxes so I placed an order. It has the mini screwdriver, lubricant and 'instructions' just like the Official Kit, I'm guessing it'll be similar. If anyone wants me to make a short, yet probably incredibly long, review I would be happy to. I should be getting a few crates from China in the coming weeks so I'll be looking out for this!

For anyone interested, the website is FocalPrice. I don't know how many people have heard or used it but I decided to order a few things off it! Speaking of cheap websites, I have also order a heap of tat from DealPerfect. That's another one that I havn't seen discussed around the forum; it seems to be limited to DealExtreme.

I have a JSK, and that cube looks nothing like it. The screw is way too big and the center caps are a completely different design. Like Vulosity said, I think it's a Type D.

@Bomber, that cube's box a a "Yj" logo, which I'm pretty sure that's the Type D and V-Cube knockoff maker.

If the cube is anything like a Type D then I'll be happy enough, It does look vaguely like a Type D but it's too difficult for me to tell based on those pictures. The centre caps don't look like those from a Type D or JSK. As for the V-Cube knock-offs, I'm quite pleased with my official cubes. That means you don't have to worry about me 'supporting' their V-Cube capers.

If I'm honest I'm just looking for things to buy, I'll be pleased with just about any cube as long as it's not bad to the extreme. I am adamant that I will buy the official JSK at some point, I just don't to start using Tribox! Just thinking.... I actually saw some on eBay! I suppose I'll have to give that a quick look.

I absolutely love this cube! IT IS MY MAIN CUBE FOR ALL MY SOLVING. I bought one about 6 months ago, and like mentioned before it did loose its original feeling. However i feel that this cube has only gotten better through time. As it has progressed it has only gotten smoother and glides along with very very little friction after proper lubing. This cube cuts corners exceptionally well and today after about 6 months of cubing with it i had my first pop. It hardly ever locks up and slices are a total breeze! I wasn't thrilled with this cube out of the box at all, especially with the odd color scheme, but after it was worn it is my favorite of all my cubes (c), (d), (e), Rubik's original--> i am yet to try (a)'s. Also like mentioned before it is super loud, but this is yet to slow me down.

I would say that this is a great cube to give a try. Its my personal favorite, and have a ton of experience with it, i absolutely love it.

Well then, first post, and its supporting this cube pretty heavily....perhaps you could make some other posts tehehehee. Just saying. Anyone with me? Know what I'm saying?

Well, Panda, I actually agree with him; it's as good as it sounds. My JSK Clone loosened up a lot after a couple of months to the point that it actually started popping a bit (it never popped before that), so I made a JSK clone cubies/Type D centers/core [Type A core, actually] hybrid, and it's almost as good as a pure JSK clone. This cube is worth every penny.

with all do respect, i was replying to inform you of my opinions on this as YOU asked about it. If you plan to criticize people who reply to your posts, why create the thread at all? In the end all of us are here to help inform YOU.

I thought you might just be one of those accounts people make to endorse there on products is all. I stand corrected and I apologize for my crude welcoming to the forum.

Now, I got the JSK clone yesterday, and yeah. I agree, this thing is amazing. It has a lot of similarities to the c4y cube in smoothness, the only difference I noticed were that:

The cube feels less "sharp" and clicky. The plastic is not quite as hard basically. It is just as smooth. It feels more stable and less flimsy and cheap than the c4y cube. It essentially has the same feel of storebought plastic, along with the sturdiness of one too.

Now I tried what Cubes=Life said and hybridized with the c4y edges of the brand new c4y cube I got with it as well. Oh man this thing is so my main speedcube now. The only problem I see with the jsk is that it randomly catches on its own edges. It's wierd, but the c4y edges completely fix that, and easily make this my favorite cube. I highly recommend to all.

One screw did come out on it's own like Cubes=Life said they would, so I took the liberty of loctite-ing them in there already. Thank you for your help this thing is great.

Edit: hahaha actually I decided I like the c4y core and corners, with jsk edges more. They're both great though.

An observation: The corners to these cubes are identical, but different size, but the edges of the jsk are ever so slightly rounded, and thicker.

No worries Sn3kyPandaMan. I just put the c4y core and corners on with my jsk edges too. Its a great cube, totally worth trying.
