unofficial comp in florida

[calekewbs]

hey guys, Rubik's Exer and I were thinking about hosting an unofficial competition in Florida because we both live in Florida and there really aren't any comps in or around Florida at the moment.

I live in Pinellas county and he lives in Citrus county so somewhere in between there would be ideal. We don't really have a plan for where it could be yet, but if anybody else in Florida has a semi large house that we could use, that would be perfect. So anybody interested in going?

And or can be some park somewhere?
I rather it be a park.

[calekewbs]

yeah a park would work too. somewhere in the middle of everyone.

I would go if it turned into an official comp. Why don't you ask around and see who would be a delegate for you.

I am pretty sure I am going to have an official Competition in Belleview, Florida (it's a small town south of Ocala. If you don't know where it is, google maps is your friend). This will be part of my senior project in December.

I would be very interested in going to this unofficial competition.

how would I go about getting a delegate to go?

[Rubik's Exer]

How can a normal person make a offical comp?
How would it be different.

[Feanaro]

How about asking: "Are there any delegates currently living near or around (insert city name hear), Florida that would want to help me get a competition together?"

http://www.worldcubeassociation.org/node/316 - It now lists the delegates by state. If you're having issues finding a delegate, you should talk with Tyson.

http://www.cubingusa.com/cubers.php - Brian Loftus is in Florida, and he's the VP of the Gator Cube Club....you may want to contact him. He's also on this forum (username Lofty)

I would be extremely interested in going, I live in Miami Florida. There's tons of places we could do it at. Keep us posted!

I (As of August 7th) will be in St. Pete.

I also know that Dakota Harris lives somewhere in Florida now.

sweet. so we've got enough people for it to be official. Now to find a venue. I'm going to call the Pres of the cube club at UF tomorrow and see if we could possibly use their facilities.
