I'm currently averaging a 29.36 using Petrus with OLL/PLL. I only know the 2-Look OLL algorithms since I usually fix bad edges before actually moving onto OLL. Anyway, I've been kind of wanting to learn Fridrich. The only problem is that it's slowing me down a lot more than what I'd expect. The cross takes me like 4 seconds to execute and my lack of lookahead completely ruins my F2L. My last layer is pretty solid for a 2-look OLL/full PLL since I've been using that with Petrus. I did an average of five with Fridrich and I got something around a 35.4 second average.
I'm kind of indifferent about the two methods, but I feel like Petrus suits my thinking when solving more so than Fridrich does. I could possibly just make my 2x2x3 block and then place the last edge of the cross in to do a somewhat "2-slot extended cross", but that kind of takes the essence away. I never really plan on practicing to the point where I'd be sub-10, but I'd be fine with a goal of around sub-20 or sub-15 over time. Should I stick with Petrus or should I try to practice Fridrich some more?
