I was wondering if you could tell what type DIY a cube is just by looking at the core or by the design of the spring/screw. For example, if you saw that the core was yellow, you would know it's a old type a diy.

If so, could someone post some pictures of the different types and their cores?

Sorry if this is in the wrong forum...

Well, I know that Cube4You cores are orange, but many cores, such as YUGA and F cores are just a dull gray that is hard to distinguish. I may post pictures later.

I think so to a certain extent.

The springs are pretty unique, such as c4y springs have their shape, which is shared by the jsk clone springs.

Type C's have shorter springs than Type As.

Edison Springs are bright and wide,
Type D springs are also wide, and similar to Edisons in many ways, except for their cubies and weight.

Cores also vary, black D cores, Black Joy cores, Black edison cores, White type C cores, Whitish rubiks diy cores, Red DS core, Red-orange C4y core. x)

TL;DR- Anyone with a lot of experience can tell the cube from the core/spring/screw structure.

Hahaha, I prefer Type C springs to Type A as well. xD

Oh, and there are different types of Type D.

One has a thicker screw, and the lighter gray core, and the other has a black core, and thinner screws.

Also, ummm, perhaps its a different type of DS?
