Okay so.. I know that many people have been looking for something like this. Over the past 2 days I have spent about 8 hours reading over Jaap's square-1 solver code (C++, which i'm not even familiar with). It was pretty insane how this thing works.
Okay so I've done a few modifications:
Now this program is in a beta version. And I would like to first ask about the legality of distributing this program to you all.
My biggest worry is that I can't release this program because of the following line:
"by Jaap Scherphuis, [email protected], copyright 2003."
Which is located in the readme file distributed with his original work.
Am I in the legal realms if I decide to distribute this to you all?
Okay so I've done a few modifications:
- Simple aesthetic changes
- Perhaps a solution is found at a depth of 5, if you want to search further, you are now prompted to do so
- Pieces can be ignored
- The solver can attempt to solve using only (U and R2) or (D and R2)
